i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm sam brock. break out the warm coats. we're seeing temperatures low 40s, high 30s? >> yes. we're back there again. we've had several of these mornings. here we are again with another chilly morning as we start out, yes, in the 30s and low 40s. you can already tell as you step out the door. here is a live look outside in san jose. skies are clear. we will continue on with the clear skies into the rest of the afternoon and a look at those temperatures now in livermore. 37 degrees. that's the cold spot. 46 in san jose and 48 in san francisco. napa, one of the warmer temperatures, 49 degrees. we'll talk about all of this and a beautiful afternoon on the way. that's coming up, blue not so nice, a crash on the peninsula. >> i'll check on the issue. i'll bring you more detail as chp gets that to us.

here is southbound 101 and millbrae, just south of sfo. we have a crash currently in the middle of the freeway. our travel time is just fine from van ness down to sfo. 18 minutes from that stretch. that's the minimum we'll usually see. more detail as chp arrives. back to you. breaking news that we're following this morning out of south america. minutes before landing a plane carrying a brazilian soccer team crashes on its way to the kol let me january port crashing just outside of med yeen. >> you can see rescue workers at the crash site. investigators say the flight had 81 people on board, many of them soccer players. only five people survived. that flight departed from bolivia. there is a report that the plane may have run out of fuel.

"today in the bay's" pete suratos is gathering information and will bring us a live update in about an hour. a developing story, a chaotic and deadly shooting outside a busy steakhouse. union city police believe everybody involved is in custody this morning. police say gunmen shot three

people in the parking lot of a texas roadhouse restaurant near the union shopping center. one victim died, two others were injured. officers who happen to be working nearby heard the shots, they got their quickly. a witness description helped police to quickly track down the suspect's car. >> we had additional officers out in the area dealing with that type of activity when this occurred. >> three people are under arrest. police believe two guns found inside their car are connected to the shooting. the "east bay times" reports the shooting is not believed to be gang related. >> a lot of questions this morning after three people are dead and five others sickened following a thanksgiving dinner in antioch. the eight victims were among the 800 people who ate a church-sponsored meal at the american legion hall on 6th street on friday. now health department officials are trying to find out what happened. >> we have no indication yet if it is a food-borne illness.

based on symptoms, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, that's usually what it is. >> all the individuals lived in the same facility. health officials say there's no threat to the general public. a man who exposed himself to a young girl has marin police on alert. this happened about 4:00 in the afternoon on saunders avenue in ekt to sir francis drake high school. a man drove up behind a 13-year-old girl asking for directions, then police said he exposed himself. the girl was able to run away. this comes just weeks after a very similar crime happened only a few blocks away in san anselmo. a candlelight richmond-san rafael bridge it for an officer who remains critically jifrd after being hit with a skateboard. the 12-year veteran has two young sons. >> i want to assure them that

morning, benicia police are asking for help identifying this man right here who broke into the 907 grill early sunday morning. take a good look. burglar reportedly stole cash from the register and that included donations for a sick employee at that restaurant. the manhunt continues this morning for two men who busted out of the santa clara county jail last week. the two cut through a second story window. we were first on the scene yesterday morning when deputies and officers raided the daze inn. sources say rojelio chavez was there shortly before the raid. authorities say they received numerous tips. >> some of those leads have panned out. some are not credible, but some are very credible. so we are very confident. we're getting ready to narrow the area.

after this cool start, it will be a nice afternoon in the south bay reaching 60 degrees, 58 in the peninsula and the tri-valley and also some lower 60s for the north bay. it will be nice but the winds will start to kick up. now that that cold air is starting to move in, we have winds picking up later today. it will be very chilly. here is what we'll see tomorrow. more clouds moving in and a slight chance of rain, but it doesn't look like a lot of rain. we are going to go back to a dry pattern on thursday be breezy and clear conditions as we get ready for some warmer temperatures, too. so the bigger picture shows over the next seven days, not a lot going on. much of that rain stays to the north. so into the forecast for san francisco, more clouds for tomorrow and then, once again, a dry weekend with a lot of sunshine. it will be much milder for the inland areas. then look how cool it gets towards the end of the forecast.

the highs for the inland areas may only be in the mid 50s. so we'll continue to keep you up to date on that. let's head over to mike now with an update on that crash. >> we have a crash at the golden gate bridge. in fact, into a part of the golden gate bridge right now. you see the speeds are moving well. the crash in hayward, i told you we'd check on it, but no problems. southbound 101 just in to san francisco, there's a crash into the toll plaza. we'll look at the live camera. we don't see any sewing, a big rig reportedly clipped one of the toll booths there from the looks of the traffic flow, no big deal. who chp vehicles have been turned away from the scene. just one there to help out with paperwork. not much of an issue. we'll track that. a look at your travel times for the south bay. no delays for the freeway. getting word of police activity center road and monterey. we're tracking that as well. >> we're actually making calls to the newsroom and checking what's going on there. 4:47 right now.

sfo to tokyo, that was the intended route yesterday. this plane never made it. a united airlines plane made an emergency landing with more than 200 people on board at sfo. this is cell phone video from the passenger. you can see the fuel being dumped from the plane before it landed at sfo. our helicopter caught united 837 coming in for a landing. the flight took off shortly before noon. one of the plane's four engines experienced a malfunction. witnesses say they heard a loud noise and saw flames coming from the plane. the pilot, after burning all that fuel, returned to sfo safely. united put passengers on other flights. that plane was headed to japan with 202 passengers on board as well as 15 crew members. 4:50 right now. banned for life. that's the response to a passenger who stood up and went off on a profane rant about donald trump. >> hey, baby, donald trump is

lawsuit. she's suing the city and county of san francisco for not correctly pruning pine trees in washington square park. she was talking to her daughter in august when a 100-pound branch broke off and hit her. she can no longer use her legs and suffers from brain damage. doctors say she'll need at least 16 more months of rehabilitation and they don't expect her to ever walk again. the city's attorney's office says they cannot comment at this time. an effort to have a memorial built for a san francisco man killed by police is starting to gain momentum. san francisco police officers shot and killed alex nieto in 2014. police say officers filed when nieto pointed a taser that kd loo like a gun at officers and then refused to drop it. supporters of the family disagree with the department's account of what happened. now members of the board of supervisors are considering an ordinance requiring a memorial be built in his honor.
